Since 2004 two
friends have been painting in a sunlit studio in the Suffolk
countryside in a spirit of collaboration, inspired in their
approach to working by Van Gogh and Gaugin, who went to live in
the south of France in order to paint together.
Both friends have
been painting for a number of years in a haphazard way, but have
progressed dramatically by working together in an atmosphere of
exuberant creativity. Their approach has been to set up a series
of still-life subjects and for each to paint it in an entirely
personal and subjective way.
One works
predominantly in acrylics and the other in oils but what is
common to both is a love of vivid and intense colour, which is
perhaps a defining feature of their work.
They are Anthea
Davidson and Tracey Curtis-Taylor of Vivid Imagination.
They invite you to
look at their picture galleries, and also those of artist
friends who share their passion for painting, but with their own
individual approaches.
